Acquired 5/22/2000 in a trade with Ripken's Hott Shotts along with Brian Rose for John "Loudmouth" Rocker and Jose Silva.

Aside from acquiring a top-notch closer, this trade accomplished two things: it got Rocker off the Zingrod's roster (and with him went the dirty sensation that comes with a real-life Mets fan owning him), and it brought Brian Rose to the Zingrods.

Update 6-4-2000: Mantei was traded back to the Hott Shotts for Johnny Damon in the wake of the crippling injuries to the Zingrods' lineup.
