Acquired in a trade with Ripken's Hott Shotts on 6/4/2000 for Matt Mantei.

Damon is sort of a poor man's Roger Cedeno: hits for average and a bit of power, with excellent speed. Like Cedeno, Damon has continuously improved as a basestealer, learning to better use his speed every season. Mantei seems like a steep price, but with Cedeno out for two months the Zingrods badly needed a replacement, and with three other closers on the roster this was a trade they had to make.
