I really don't know too much about Polanco, but I hear he has decent eye for the strike zone. The Zingrods needed a backup middle infielder, and with recent expansion in the GBUFBL the free agent pickings are pretty slim. We'll just have to wait and see how he pans out.

UPDATE 4-26-1999: Goodbye, Placido; we hardly knew you. The Zingrods, like the Cardinals, are going with the hot bat ( Joe McEwing ) while Howard spends another stint on the DL.
