Boy, this guy came out of nowhere and capitalized on David Howard's injury. The Zingrods' middle infield utility slot has traditionally been a revolving door, but if this guy keeps swinging the bat the way he has, he could stick in St. Louis and Wiley Ford.

Update 7/9/1999:Sticking seems to be in the cards for McEwing.

Update 10-14-1999: Or maybe not. After a torrid first half, McEwing rapidly fell out of the Rookie-of-the-Year race, out of the Cards' everyday lineup, and off the Zingrods roster.
