In a scenario similar to the Jeff Brantley/Wayne Gomes situation, Jeff Montgomery's recent struggles raise the possibility that for the Royals' "Closer of the Future", the future could be soon. The GBUFBL is a pretty deep league, and any team that waits for official announcements to act is usually too late. The Zingrods have therefore decided to totally jump the gun and aquire this guy while he's still available, before the rumors even start to fly.

Update 8-9-1999:It looks like Moreno is out for the season, and although it would have been nice to protect him from the draft next season, the Zingrods needed the roster spot and released him.
