Dempster is an adequate pitcher who will chew up innings, strike a few guys out, neither help nor hurt the team ERA too much, and get less wins than he deserves because he pitches for a bad team. A less-than-sterling recommendation to be sure, but pitching in the GBUFBL is desperately thin.

Update 10-14-1999: Dempster lived up to the June expectations above, and actually posted a higher K/IP ratio than the Zingrods were hoping for. Not bad at all...
